CELEBRATED 50 YEAR IN THE COMMUNITY
Community funding projects
50 years in the community
The Centre serves the community within the West of Gateshead particularly Ryton, Crawcrook, Clara Vale, Greenside and Stella.
Although a designated youth provision the centre offers a wide program of activities for all ages including youth groups, fitness classes, Zumba, arts and crafts, Age UK and Slimming World.
The centre is run by a voluntary management committee made up of local people. They are responsible for the internal maintenance and running costs of the centre.
Our aim is to maintain and develop the centre for the local community ensuring a well maintained and safe building for people to meet, take part in a wide range of activities from all ages that will benefit them both physically and mentally.
It costs about £20,000 per year to run the centre and this is raised through fees, room hire and fund raising activities. Support from Gateshead Council is being reduced and the centre is now more reliant on the community for it’s future.
Volunteering and committee Members
We are looking for volunteers and committee members to support our work, it is very rewarding and there are so many ways in which to help, working with young people, administration, publicity and making small repairs. If you can offer a few hours a week or an hour now and again it would be appreciated.
If you are interested please contact 0191 4132053
